The swath of land between Beltway 8 and 610 is a broad area, made up of many communities including Acres Homes, East Houston, Oak Forest & Garden Oaks, Inwood and Eastex/Jensen. Easy access to I-45, HWY 290, I-69, and 610, paired with an affordable price point in many areas are causing a boon of popularity in many of the Northside neighborhoods.
The prime location within the city has also caught the eye of developers and builders, as many move into the area to offer a number of new construction options. Many homes in the north side neighborhoods have been owned for generations and remain in their original condition. Other properties still have been renovated to maintain their original integrity while incorporating modern finishes and amenities.
The area is served by several school districts, depending on location, including Aldine, Klein, Houston, and Cy-Fair ISDs. Private, alternative/hack/magnet, and parochial schools are available in the areas as well. In addition to schools servicing the area, a number of the city's best hidden culinary gems can be found in the North Houston neighborhoods, as well as produce stands and farmer's markets.
